It is easily spread through the beard and you just have to leave it there for a couple of seconds/minutes. It has the same “normal” soap smell as the wash. Not intense, not unpleasant. After rinsing, the scent will not compete with whatever you put on. After blow drying, the hair is soft and manageable without being oily or shiny. The conditioner leaves no residue but an immediate softening effect is apparent. Of course, it will not last. A conditioner is really not necessary but sometimes I like to spoil my beard. I am undecided whether a conditioner is something I’d recommend to people or not. Probably it is just an extra step covered by a good wash and an oil/balm or aloe-vera treatment. Yet I have to give the product five stars for it is doing exactly what it is supposed to do and I personally like it very much.
